Hi, Yvette -- That's really terrific! Thanks so much for letting me know that the post helped you figure out what was off the mark, and as a result enabled you to feel excited about working on your book again. Your comment is much appreciated.

Hi, Kitty -- I'm really pleased that you found this post helpful. Keeping your underlying motivating reasons in mind can sometimes give you the energy boost required to keep at it until you find the right solution. Thanks again for commenting.

This is an excellent list. The last one I have found very helpful. At the moment I'm unable to get the transition between scenes on my current chapter. I know what is wrong, but I'm experiencing a bit of burnout at the moment. I'm going to write my motivation list right now. Thanks. XD

Thank you so much for the inspiration you have just unleashed within myself. I am in the process of writing my first book and have been working on it, off and on for the past 9 months and am still only at chapter 7. Not even halfway in my mind.

Now I know what I am doing wrong. I am not preparing for the book. Any research I have done has been when I have had the light bulb going off in my brain and I am writing the book virtually by the seat of my pants.

Definitely going to put this into practice and also for short stories.
Again thank you for this information.

Thanks so much for letting me know you found this post helpful. It's a big subject, but I wanted to offer an overview of some of the most common "book-stoppers" that authors encounter. Best to you, Laurel
