“A nice peaceful place with some good light [is the ideal book-writing setting].”         — Mary McCarthy

We offer an initial, free, and confidential phone consultation, designed to determine an author’s book services needs in the space of a comfortable fifteen minutes.

Subsequent consultations are available at the rate of one hundred and fifty-five dollars for each hour.

All other book services are billed at varying hourly rates, according to their complexity and requisite professional skill level.

For the four-part process that serves most book manuscripts best (a Reading, Written Manuscript Evaluation, Test Edit, and Complete Edit — see How We Can Work Together for a full description), the hourly rates are:

  • Reading the Manuscript & Making Extensive Notes in Preparation for Writing the Twenty-to-Thirty-Page Evaluation (seventy-five dollars an hour)
  • Writing the Manuscript Evaluation (one hundred and twenty-five dollars an hour)
  • Manuscript Evaluation Followup Phone Consultation (seventy-five dollars an hour)
  • Test Edit & Complete Edit, including Developmental Editing (ninety-five dollars an hour)

For Authors Seeking Collaborative Book Services:

Co-authorship writing (in which the professional writer’s name appears as the “With” author on the book’s cover) is billed at one hundred and ten dollars an hour.

Ghostwriting (in which the professional writer is completely anonymous and no public credit is given) is billed at one hundred and fifty dollars an hour (because ghostwritten books do not offer a promotional benefit to the writer’s business).

Co-writing (in which segments of a book being developed are ghosted for the author – to illustrate how particularly tricky parts could be professionally handled) is billed at one hundred and fifty-five dollars an hour.

Authors generally realize that professional assistance in realizing their book’s fullest potential is an investment.

Carefully considering all the benefits — whether in the achievement of professional goals, or in the attainment of significant personal aspirations — is an important preliminary step.
